This Privacy Policy explains how Simple Billing (“we”, “us”, or the “Service”), available at simplebillingapp.com, collects, uses, and protects the information you provide when you use our invoicing and payment-tracking software. By using the Service you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account information — your name, email address, and password (stored only as a secure hash), and, if you sign in with Google, your Google account's name and email.
• Business & billing data you enter — your business details, GSTIN/tax IDs, customers, items, invoices, and payment records. This is your data; you enter and control it.
• Payment information — when you purchase a paid plan, payments are processed by our payment gateway (Razorpay). We do not receive or store your full card, UPI, or bank details.
• Usage & device data — basic analytics (pages viewed, actions taken, browser/device type, approximate location) via tools such as Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, to understand and improve the Service.

How we use your information

• To provide, operate, and secure the Service.
• To generate the invoices, PDFs, and reports you create, and to deliver them where you choose (e.g. email).
• To process paid-plan purchases and manage your subscription.
• To send you essential account and service communications, and, where permitted, occasional product updates.
• To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or technical issues.

We do not sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or your business data. We only share data with the trusted service providers needed to run the Service (see below), or where required by law.

Service providers we use

• Hosting & database — Vercel and Neon (PostgreSQL), which store the Service and your data on secure cloud infrastructure.
• Email delivery — Brevo, to send invoices and account emails.
• Payments — Razorpay, which processes paid-plan purchases under its own privacy policy.
• Analytics & support — Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Inspectlet, and Tawk.to live chat.

These providers process data only on our behalf and for the purposes above.

Data security

We protect your data with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, encrypted storage of sensitive credentials, and access controls that limit who can reach your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable, industry-standard measures to safeguard your information. See our Security page for more.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can export your invoices at any time and request deletion of your account and data by contacting us. Some records may be retained where required for legal, tax, or accounting obligations.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to run the Service, and analytics cookies to understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Children

The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed at individuals under 18.
